A man has been eliminated from a police investigation into a violent armed robbery after an appeal on Crimewatch last week.

A £60,000 reward is on offer as police continue to hunt for a masked man with a shotgun who "booted" the pregnant daughter of a multimillionaire in Kingswood.

Following an appeal on Crimewatch, members of the public identified a man seen on CCTV footage at Kingswood station on the evening of the attack on November 12.

It was believed the man may have been a potential witness, but it has now been established that he is not connected to the crime.

Entrepreneur Robert Stiff’s wife Catherine and his grown up daughters Chloe and Katie were kicked, tied up and forced to hand over their jewellery and watches at their mansion that backs onto Kingswood Golf Club in November.

Detective Chief Inspector Antony Archibald, said: "Once again the media has proved to be a vital tool in helping our investigations and I would like to thank all those people who tuned into the show and took the time to help our enquiries.

"We received a number of calls from people identifying the man caught on camera at Kingswood Railway Station and after speaking with him yesterday we have established he was not connected to the offence and have been able to eliminate him from our investigation.

"I would continue to urge anyone who has information on the aggravated burglary to come forward and speak with police; all information will be treated in the strictest of confidence."

Anyone with information on this attack should call East Surrey CID on 01483 631239 quoting Op Vesuvius. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
