A speedy Santa defended his title for a third year in a row after being the first to cross the finish line at a fun run in Richmond Park.

Your Local Guardian:

Hundreds of Santas enjoyed the run in the royal park in aid of Princess Alice Hospice on Sunday, December 14, with many running in memory of loved ones cared for by the Esher hospice.

Nick Mckay 36, from Wimbledon, ran in memory of his sister-in-law and took away the title of fastest Santa.

He said: "I like to support Princess Alice Hospice but am competitive too so I was keen to make this three in a row.

"The run has become an annual festive family event for us and this year my young son was also able to take part from the comfort of his buggy."

The hospice hopes the two runs in Richmond Park and a third in Bushy Park will raised about £47,000 to help care for patients and their families in the festive season.
