Vandals have ripped flowers and plants out of a flower bed transformed by volunteers to mark centenary of the Great War.
A Good Samaritan got the community together to plant the plot in July and was shocked to discover the vandalism by the war memorial in Ewell Village on Saturday, September 13.
The man, who does not want to be named and regularly tends to the flower bed, said he went down to replant the shrubs the next day.
He said: "If it happens again I am going to pull all the plants up and leave a single [Royal British Legion] cross and poppy in the middle of it.
"Hopefully I won't see whoever is doing this because I am not sure I would be able to control my temper.
"If these yobbos put as much time and effort into doing something constructive instead of something destructive the world would be a better place."
He added: "I have been down there digging some up and replanting them, but the bed won't survive another yob attack."
