Thousands of families flocked to the "best-ever" family fun day, which featured inflatable wrestlers, performing dogs and live music.

An estimated 13,500 people went to the third Epsom and Ewell Borough Family Fun Day in Hook Road Arena, Epsom on Sunday.

The charity event included more than 140 stalls, children’s games, a fun fair, dog show, vintage cars, refreshments and entertainment.

One of the organisers, Tony Axelrod, of Epsom Rotary Club, said: "With regard to the overall sum raised for local charities and good causes I would estimate this at something in the region of £26,000, when taking into account sums raised by charity stalls.

"We had a great day with a fantastic community feel and spirit."

He said they raised more money for charity than last year and added: "I would say it was the best ever. I think everybody who attended had a good time and it was helped by the weather.

"It was nice to see a great cross-section of charities, community groups and schools."

The fun day is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Epsom and Ewell with support from Epsom Council.
