A woman had her head shaved for charity on Sunday in solidarity with family and friends who are battling cancer.
Elena Butler, 58, from Brumfield Road, West Ewell, said goodbye to her hair during a coffee morning she organised in aid of charity Cancer Research.
Ms Butler said: "So many people close to me have been diagnosed this year: my partner, my sister, my cousin, a good neighbour across the road and a good friend.
"They all have different variations of cancer."
Her friend was "so worried" about losing her hair, Ms Butler decided to shave her head so they could go through it together.
She said: "I try and be there for people as much as I can. This is one way I thought I could make her feel better about not having any hair."
Ms Butler said she expects to raise more than £1,000, more than 100 people came to the coffee morning and she was not fazed by the head shave on Sunday.
She said: "It was quite pleasant having the clipper go over my head, almost like a massage. I feel very confident walking about with no hair. The support on the day was amazing."
