A young disabled poet is organising an evening of poetry and music in aid of his former youth club for children with disabilities.
Kane Holborn, 24, who has cerebral palsy, used to go to Epsom Phab youth club and is currently doing a PhD in poetry at Winchester University.
His arts organisation, AnyStage Republic, is organising the show starring Roundhouse poetry slam winner Antosh Wojcik and band the Lost Cause Cowboys.
Holborn’s performance on the night is billed as an "intriguing blend of whimsical lyric and musical nostalgia" with a focus on inclusion.
The evening is organised in association with SM Presents whose founder SM Ripper will also perform at Epsom Playhouse.
Wojcik, through his website, says: "I attempt to articulate truth with words, nerves and gestures. Expect conviction, absurdity and nudity."
Phab meets every Friday at its home at Nescot College in Reigate Road, Ewell. It has recently moved there from the Linton Centre in Epsom.
