Greenacre School is celebrating its “fantastic success” in today’s GCSE results.

At the independent girls school, in Sutton Lane, Banstead, almost 43 per cent of grades were at A* or A grade, with 72 per cent at grades A* to B and 92 per cent at grades A* to C.

A spokeswoman said: “These excellent results are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the girls who have excelled across the board.

“The experience and commitment of the teaching staff at Greenacre allow every girl to develop as an individual and to achieve their full potential and this priority has been evident in these fabulous results.”

Top achievers at the school included Laura Hemmings who got 9 A*s, 1 A and 1 B, Karla Boxall who achieved 8 A*s, and 2 As, Caitlin McDowell who got 7 A*s and 3 As and Joanna Male who was awarded 6 A*s and 4 As.
