A hospital trust has said it is "seriously considering" whether it will continue to employ a hearing specialist who is to stand trial over a string of alleged sex offences.

Dr "Robin" Lam Hoe Yeoh, 61, of Garratts Lane, Banstead, appeared via video link in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 5, charged with 29 counts of voyeurism, two counts of making indecent images off a child, two counts of possession of extreme pornography and one count of voyeurism, which relates to 70 unknown victims.

He had been previously charged with one count of voyeurism in April, following an incident at St Anthony's Hospital, Cheam.

The consultant audiologist is also employed by Epsom and St Helier hospitals trust, which released this statement following Tuesday’s court hearing: "We have been made aware by the police that some of our patients and staff may have been affected by this case.

"The care and safety of our patients and staff is always our utmost priority and as such, Dr Yeoh was immediately suspended from work at our hospitals at the beginning of the police investigation.

"Based on the charges we have heard, his suspension will continue until further notice and his employment with our organisation is now being seriously considered.

"As criminal proceedings are ongoing, we are unable to say more at this time."

Dr Yeoh has been bailed and is due to appear at Croydon Crown Court on August 19.

If you think you may have been affected by this case, the trust has a confidential information line to call on 020 8018 4018.
