A pensioner has been charged with burglary after cigarettes were snatched in a dawn raid at a Co-op store.
The supermarket, in Tattenham Crescent, Epsom, was broken into and an unknown quantity of cigarettes stolen at 4.10am yesterday, July 22.
John Robinson Gladwin, 75, of Stubbs Lane, Tadworth, has been charged with burglary and has been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court today.
A 24-year-old man from Tadworth has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been released on bail until September 27.
