Touch down at Brooklands for a day of aviation antics and activities.

Brooklands Museum hosts its annual aviation day on Saturday, September 29, and will feature a vintage aircraft flying display, education and careers advice and even the chance of a hot air balloon flight.

Visitors will be able to inspect light aircraft flown in for the day or try their hand at flying themselves on specially-installed simulators.

The action begins in the morning, with several light aircrafts, microlights and a helicopter landing on the airstrip at Mercedes-Benz World, where visitors will be able to inspect them.

A flying display of Brooklands-related vintage aircraft is planned for the afternoon, while throughout the day a hot air balloon will be offering tethered flights high above the Paddock.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to speak to the RAF and other experts from the Air League, Women in Aviation and British Airways about careers not only in piloting or navigating, but in engineering, design or for cabin and ground crew positions.

In the Aircraft Park, Brooklands Museum’s unique collection of 1940s, 50s and 60s airliners will be open so visitors will be able to step inside a VC10 or Viscount to really see what jet-age travel in that era felt like.

The only publicly-accessible Concorde in the south of England will also be open for the half-hour Concorde Experience.
