A hot mango pickle has won a gold star rating at the great taste awards.

Regarded as the Oscars of the fine food industry, it was the 12th great taste award won by Anila’s Authentic Sauces, which produces premium curry sauces, pickles, chutneys and dips.

The gold star rating means that the judges found the pickle to be a virtually faultless food.

Walton-based Anila Vaghela said: “It’s a very popular product with our customers and is made with fresh green mangoes.

“It’s a perfect accompaniment to many different dishes and snacks, including curries, parathas and chapattis.”
