ACS Cobham students chosen to play for England
ACS Cobham International School has had three students selected to play for the England Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) U18 squad.
Anna Thomas, Chrissie Stuart and Melissa Zhang, all aged 16, will join 22 other students from across the country.
They recently played for the ISFA south-east squad, after school coaches nominated them for regional trials.
Students were selected for the national squad based on their performances at the regional ISFA tournament and will represent England at fixtures across the country throughout the 2012-13 academic year.
Miss Zhang said: “It took a while to sink in as it is such an honour to have been selected, but I’m really excited to have been chosen as it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“Playing alongside two friends from ACS Cobham will make it extra special and hopefully help with nerves as we are used to playing alongside each other already.”
