Business helps elderly enjoy monthly event at Cobham Village Hall
11:40am Thursday 14th June 2012 in Elmbridge By Louise Robertson
A business couple leant a helping hand to charity on Saturday, June 16.
Sally Findlay has helped Platinum Christian Trust which has run events for senior citizens in Cobham for several years.
The group meets monthly and also organises events four times a year, for elderly people to get out of the house and meet people.
Mrs Findlay, 42, used her experience with her Surrey branding company Recognition Express to provide aprons with logos for workers in the kitchen at the most recent event at Cobham Village Hall.
Her husband Adam, 39, also rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in with the washing up and cleaning.
Mrs Findlay said: “As a couple we really enjoy helping out because it feels like such a worthwhile event and we have a lovely time. “It is great to get a chance to talk to people who have so much experience of life and so many interesting tales to tell.
“I have heard some amazing stories about evacuation during the war and marriages lasting more than 60 years, as well as regularly enjoying a dance with one new friend in her 80s.”
