A pensioner has expressed his disappointment at the lack of businesses flying the country’s flag on St George’s Day.
West Molesey resident Reginald Day said the lack of patriotism made him angry.
He said nearly all of the shops in Shepperton had the English flag raised on Monday, April 23, but he only counted one in his home town.
He said: “I’m born and bred in England and I’m 85 so I went through the war and was in the Royal Navy.
“Now all these shops want our support, but they can’t even support the country that they live in.”
He said the Lord Hotham pub in West Molesey raised a St George’s flag for the occasion.
