Original heart-themed canvases made from found materials are up for grabs this Valentine’s Day.
Artist Ruth Sadler, 52, has been working non-stop in her Thames Ditton studio to create a range of love motifs.
In the past Mrs Sadler has used materials such as old sheets of music, scraps from the Financial Times newspaper and even old comics.
She said: "There are 98 different Inuit names for snow and so there should be for love too.
"Saying I love you is so common now but there are just so many different types of love. That’s why I make different types of hearts.
"There’s something appropriate for everyone, I’ve even made one from Spiderman comics."
She said: "I use scraps because each canvas is a one-off. There will never be two of the same, even if I tried to make them the same I couldn’t. It used to be frustrating but now I think it’s fabulous.
"I even make canvases from old love letters - which can be really nice around this time of the year."
Mrs Sadler, who studied art at Roehampton University, recently had her work exhibited at Bentalls in Kingston.
