Children and collectors will be in heaven next weekend when browsing through more than 500 stalls at Esher’s Toy Collectors’ Fair.

Sandown Park hosts the event, among Europe’s most highly-regarded toy collectors’ fairs, with visitors and exhibitors travelling from all over the UK and Europe to see the rarest vintage items, Scalextric, Lego or the latest Dr Who action figures.

Collectable toys, trains and models will be displayed and there will be Star Wars, James Bond, other film and television-related toys, teddy bears, action figures, dolls, Disneyana, jigsaws, model soldiers, display cases, Tin Plate Toys, games and much more.

This year, Sandown Park will also celebrate 50 years of the E-type Jaguar, displaying several real E-types, including the Lindner-Nocker lightweight, the one and only factory-made low-drag lightweight, that has been put back together after 7,000 hours of restoration.

The racetrack will also show the first E-type built.

Ellis Potter of organiser BP Fairs said: “Sandown is regarded as the number one toy show in Europe and now, with these classic E-Types on display, we are creating a real buzz among car enthusiasts. It should be a great day for the whole family.”

Everyone is invited to bring their own E-type or classic car and there will be an award for the best one.

You will have the opportunity to meet Norman Dewis, chief test driver for Jaguar in the 1960s, and there will be a special showcase of Jaguar models and unique, specially produced Jaguar artwork.

The fair takes place in Sandown Exhibition Centre at the Esher racecourse on September 3.

There is Free Parking for 5,000 cars at Sandown Park and, with items from under £10 to over £1,000, there is sure to be something to tempt you, whatever your taste or budget.

The fair runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm and the admission is £5 for adults, £4.50 for senior citizens and £2 for children. Under fives go free.
