Elmbridge Council is among the best councils in the country, according to the latest report from the Audit Commission.
It was judged to be one of the top district and borough councils in the country and was the only district in Surrey to score full marks in the value for money category.
It is the third year in a row that it has received four out of four for the third year running, putting it in the top 12 out of 240 local authorities across the county.
Councillor Roy Taylor, leader of the council, said: “This acknowledgement from the Audit Commission should provide the residents of Elmbridge with the independent reassurance that we are doing everything possible to deliver effective and efficient services.”
The Audit Commission, an external assessment of how councils use their resources, said the council continued to provide high performing services to the public and delivered good value for money overall.
The council’s chief executive Rob Moran said: “This is an excellent result based on the continuing hard work and commitment of our staff to making us one of the best authorities in the country.”
