A learner driver has been ordered not to get behind the wheel for two years after crashing into a tree while high last November.
The drug driver was yesterday (Wednesday, May 3) disqualified for two years, ordered to carry out 80 hours of community service, and pay £290 in fines, costs and surcharges, Surrey Police’s Roads Policing Unit tweeted.
The force had shared an image of a totalled silver car, its bonnet bent, its front bumper barely still attached, on November 27 last year after the crash in Weybridge.
Surrey Road Cops tweeted: “This is what happens when you drive under the influence of drugs, with a provisional licence. You drive into a tree. The tree won.”

You drive into a tree.
The tree won.
Yesterday the force provided an update after the driver had been to court, and on the tree’s condition.
“The tree is recovering well,” Surrey’s RPU added.
