Firefighters and Red Cross workers evacuated three elderly people – one aged 90 – from homes flooded during torrential rains and lightning storms on Thursday morning.
The pensioners, a couple and a man, were rescued at 6am on June 23 from Tinmans Row in Downside Common Road, Cobham.
Esher and Walton firefighters pumped water out of the homes. The residents will be housed elsewhere while their homes are repaired.
Greg Smith, from the British Red Cross, said: “With several weather warnings still in place across the south east, the Red Cross has trained emergency response volunteers available to respond when the need arises.”
Flooding has caused severe delays throughout the day to roads in Kingston and Elmbridge, with large sections of the M25 at Cobham suffering delays of more than an hour.
