Wales’ Rugby World Cup team were left shaking in their boots after members reported seeing a ghost at their Weybridge hotel.

Prop Samson Lee has revealed his team-mate Dan Lydiate was left spooked after witnessing a ghost at the ‘haunted’ Oaklands Park Hotel where they were staying in the lead up to the match against England on September 26.

Perhaps the ghost was not happy at England’s defeat by Wales and decided to give the team a scare for helping knock England out of the tournament.

Mr Lee told Wales Online: "A few boys think they’ve seen a ghost but I’m not sure they actually have."

"I think it’s best to stay away from room 1313. Some of them reckon they have seen Henry VIII."

The hotel is said to be notorious as a hotspot for paranormal activities, with many reports of a grey lady roaming the premises.

The legend of the lady in question is based on the death of a maid who threw herself off the bell tower after a lover's quarrel, landing next to room 1313.

Guests have complained several times of temperature changes around this particular room, which is on the third floor of the Tudor Wing.

The hotel, which was previously a privately owned historic county house and was turned into a hotel in 1856, stands on the site of the grand Royal Palaces of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.
