A scheme to provide round-the-clock support for young people with mental health problems has secured £729,000.
The Department for Education announced support for a brand new scheme to give a safe sanctuary for families struggling with mental health difficulties.
The money will be used by Surrey County Council and the Guildford and Waverly Clinical Commissioning Group to extend their Hope programme.
Mary Angell, Surrey County Council cabinet member for children and families, said: "We welcome the Department for Education's backing for this groundbreaking new service which will enable us to provide even better support to young people who are struggling with mental health problems.
"We want young people in Surrey to get the best possible start in life and this service will build on our successful approach of working with other organisations as one team in the best interests of those with emotional, social and educational needs.
"By giving them the right support at times of crisis we can help them go on to lead fulfilling and independent lives."
