Children stuck in hospital during the Christmas period had their days brightened when a pop-up pantomime paid a visit.

The Starlight Children's Foundation brought a large dose of cheer to children in Ash ward at St Peter's Hospital on Tuesday, December 9.

Izabela Wakula, health play specialist, said: "Starlight is always a great experience and a fantastic opportunity for our young patients to go off on an amazing adventure with the panto characters.

"We think ourselves very lucky to host Starlight panto as they are very professional and their shows are unforgettable for our young patients and their families."

Every year, Starlight provides fun entertainment to more than half a million unwell children.

Sue Wildman, head of children's services at Starlight Children's Foundation, said: "We hope that this performance of Robinson Crusoe will be just what they doctor ordered."
