A lorry carrying a mini digger got stuck under a railway bridge and scattered glass all over the road.

It is thought the crane section of the vehicle got caught on the top of Hersham Railway bridge as the lorry drove through.

A witness said the mini digger the lorry was carrying then slipped off into the side of the bridge, getting wedged, getting glass over the road This happened at about 8pm on Thursday evening in Molesey Road.

The road was closed in both directions for about an hour as emergency services dealt with the stuck vehicle.

Kevin Hamilton said on Twitter: "Incredible that another lorry has struck Hersham Rail bridge. Don't these drivers read the warning signs? Thankfully looks like no injuries."

A recovery vehicle arrived and winched the crane from the side of the bridge.
