Book lovers came together to enjoy all things literary as part of the Love your Library day.
More than 50 people filled Molesey library in Walton Road on Saturday, September 14, to see the services and activities on offer to residents.
Dominic Raab, MP for Esher and Walton, and deputy mayor of Elmbridge Barry Fairbank were among those who showed their support for the library and unveiled a new picture hanging system, which will be used by the Molesey Art Society.
The group will display their works of art for residents to see, with visitors to the unveiling saying the artwork brightens up the walls and makes a difference to the library.
Steve Bax, from the Friends of Molesey Library committee, said: “The day was a tremendous success and it was brilliant to see the library so busy. Dominic Raab spoke about how Molesey library is part of the fabric of the local community and how important it is that people continue to support it, so that we can ensure it stays open and goes from strength to strength.
“We are all delighted with the picture hanging system and grateful to the RC Sherriff Trust for awarding us a grant to buy it.”
Youngsters who won the creepy house summer reading competition were also presented with their medals and younger children enjoyed a story-time afternoon.
