Hundreds evacuated after Croydon chemical spill

Hundreds have been evacuated from a shopping centre after a suspected chemical spill.

Firefighters are investigating the incident at Virgin Active Gym, Grants Shopping Centre, Croydon, which took place just after 11am this morning.

About 40 people have been evacuated from the gym and 200 from the shopping centre.

Investigations are ongoing as to the cause.
