Olympic diver Blake Aldridge has been charged with shoplifting and assault.
Norbury-born Aldridge, 27, of Shirley Road, Beckenham, was arrested in Tesco, Elmers End, on February 19 after allegedly stealing booze and hitting a security guard.
The athlete, who partnered 14-year-old Tom Daley at the Beijing Olympics, appeared at Camberwell Magistrates’ Court via a video link from Bromley police station yesterday afternoon.
He has been bailed to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on April 28.
