'Exhausted' Winehouse admitted to hospital

Former Brit school star Amy Winehouse has been admitted to hospital suffering from exhaustion.

The 23-year-old Rehab singer was taken to the University College London Hospital yesterday after missing a concert in Norway.

Amy, who has missed a spate of shows recently for health reasons, was discharged a few hours later.

She had been booked to appear at the Oya music festival in Oslo yesterday night, but according to festival organisers, pulled out at the last moment.

A spokesman for Amy's record label, Island Records, said yesterday: "Amy Winehouse was admitted to UCLH this morning suffering from severe exhaustion.

"Amy was discharged from the hospital this afternoon and has been advised to take complete rest. Scheduled performances in Norway and Denmark this week have been cancelled."

Concerns about the Back to Black singer's health have raged in the media with suggestions her hard living lifestyle is making her ill.

Amy has won a host of awards this year for her album Back to Black and it hotly tipped to pick up the Mercury Music Prize.
