A person has died after being hit by a train in Purley today.
British Transport Police was called at about 12.10pm.
Officers are working to identify the person and inform family.
The fatality is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for Network Rail said: "We had a call just after midday today. the train invovled was the 11:39 from London Victoria to Tunbrige Wells.
"As a result of the incident we closed Purley Station to passengers and we closed most of the tracks apart from Gatwick Express. There was a period of time where nothing was running. Lines reponed at 13.25pm."
