The man accused of murdering Sabrina Mullings in Upper Norwood has not appeared in court after becoming lost in the prison system.

Ms Mullings, 38, was stabbed to death at her home in Ravensdale Gardens at around 6am on Monday, March 13.

Ivan Griffin, 23, also of Ravensdale Gardens, was found with stab wounds in Walworth Road, Southwark, at 4pm the same day.

He was placed under arrest while in hospital and charged with murder on Friday, March 17, before appearing in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 18.

March 17: Ivan Griffin charged with Upper Norwood murder of Sabrina Mullings

He was due before the Old Bailey on Tuesday, March 21.

However, the Old Bailey confirmed he was not produced at court after confusion was caused by the number of aliases Mr Griffin used, and officials were unable to track down which prison he was being held in.

It is believed the correct prison has now been established, and Mr Griffin will appear to enter a plea at the Old Bailey at a date to be arranged.

A provisional trial date has been set for August 21.
