Part of a terraced house was damaged when fire broke out in Thornton Heath.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to the blaze in Manchester Road on Sunday evening.
Four people had left the house before London Fire Brigade arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.
Part of the first floor of the end-of-terrace home was damaged in the fire which started shortly after 6.30pm and was under control an hour later.
Fire crews from Norbury, Woodside and Croydon fire stations attended.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
