Detectives are trying to get to the bottom of a serious crash in Wallington which left a biker injured.

The 35-year-old motorcycle rider was initially feared to have life-threatening injuries after the collision yesterday morning (Wednesday, October 12).

Police and Paramedics rushed to Croydon Road at the junction with Harcourt Road just after 7am, shutting Croydon Road in both directions and diverting buses.

The London Ambulance Service said it treated a man for stomach pain and took him ‘as a priority’ to a major trauma centre in south-west London.

Now police are appealing for information about the crash and at this stage say they do not know if another vehicle was involved.

Anyone with information should call the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merton on 020 8543 5157.
