A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a bus in South Norwood.

Police and paramedics were sent to Whitehorse Road following the “serious” collision at about 11.20am.

London’s Air Ambulance were also sent to the scene.

Police have closed the road following the crash, described as a “serious road collision” by Croydon police Twitter account.

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said: “We were called at 11.17am today, September 20 to reports of a road traffic accident at Whitehorse Road, Croydon.

“We sent two ambulance crews and a single responder in a car to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. The first of our medics arrived at the scene in under three minutes.

“We treated a patient at the scene, a man, for multiple injuries and took him as a priority to a major trauma centre in south London.”
