A seven-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a car in New Addington.
Police and paramedics were called to King Henry's Drive just after 4pm today following the collision.
It is thought the child was hit near the road bridge at Addington Vale, which runs next to a children's playground.
She was taken to a major trauma centre but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
The driver of the car has been arrested for failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance of a licence.
She remains in custody at a south London police station this afternoon.
Emergency services were still in King Henry's Drive at 5pm, according to reports on social media.
