A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after absconding from Croydon University Hospital has been bailed.
Reece Davis, 23, an inpatient at the medium-security wing of Bethlem Royal psychiatric hospital in Beckenham was arrested on May 10 in connection to a stabbing in Crystal Palace.
Police and paramedics were called to reports of stabbing in Belvedere Road at 9.20pm on May 9.
The victim, a 32-year-old jogger, was taken to a south London hospital. He has since been discharged.
Mr Davis has been bailed to return to a south London police station to a date in June.
He had escaped through a “restricted window” at Croydon University Hospital on May 5 while on escorted leave from the psychiatric hospital.
He was found in the Streatham Common area at about midday on May 10.
The NHS trusts that run the two hospitals are both investigating how he was able to abscond.
