Crystal Palace Park was filled with woofs and wagging tails this weekend as 500 dogs and their owners walked together to raise money for neglected pups.

There was a choice of either a 3k or 5k route around the park at the Big Walkies event, hosted by the RSPCA and Vitality insurance.

The aim of the event was to raise money and get dog owners and their canine pals active.

Head of Companion Animals at the RSPCA Dr Samantha Gaines is attended the walk with her rescue dog Flo.

Flo was found wandering in London with a broken leg and spent a couple of months at RSPCA Harmsworth Animal Hospital whilst her leg was healing.

Once better she was taken to RSPCA Leybourne Animal Centre before being rehomed in September.

Sam said: “Flo was quite nervous when we first got her and had very severe separation related behaviour. Five months on and she is a completely different dog."
