A fault in signalling equipment at Selhurst will cause disruption until the end of today.
The fault is on the line between Croydon and Selhurst and will stop some northbound trains from using the route which would normally be taken.
Southern Rail has said services may take longer to pass through the affected area, and may require passengers to use different platforms at East Croydon and Purley.
A statement on Southern Rail's website said: "Network Rail, who own and maintain the signalling and track advise that they will be unable to repair the problem today however they are working hard to ensure that disruption as a result of this fault is kept to a minimum.
"We are sorry for the delay to your journey today."
