A violent boyfriend has been jailed for three years for repeatedly attacking his partner.

Curtis McAtamney, 24, of Whitworth Road, South Norwood, was arrested in May after his girlfriend told police he had punched her in the face.

Officers learned he had subjected her to sustained domestic violence throughout their relationship, repeatedly landing her in hospital.

He was jailed at Croydon Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting unlawful wounding and cannabis supply.

Detective Sergeant Tom Jones, of Croydon Police, said: "This is an excellent result and sends a strong message that we will thoroughly and robustly investigate all allegations of domestic abuse and will push for the strongest possible sentencing for offender.

"This has been a team effort, with crucial contributions by our partners at social services and the Family Justice Centre.

"If you are a victim of domestic abuse or you have information concerning domestic abuse, please contact police on 101 and know that you will be taken seriously and all possible steps will be taken to support you and keep you safe."
