A van seized by the council after it was used to illegally dump waste has been crushed and displayed across the borough.
The white Ford Transit was seized on February 21 after two men were seen tipping building debris in Lysander Road off Purley Way. The pair fled on foot.
The crushed vehicle has become part of the council’s ongoing Don’t Mess With Croydon - Take Pride campaign launched last June.
Councillor Stuart Collins, the council cabinet member for Clean and Green Croydon, said: "Fly-tipping blights our borough, and we will track any person or vehicle involved in it.
"Anyone thinking about fly-tipping should think again once they’ve seen how we get rid of vehicles used for this kind of crime."
The van has so far been taken to New Addington, Thornton Heath, Upper Norwood and Croydon town centre, and will be touring the borough later this week.
Anyone with information on dumped waste should contact the council’s dedicated fly-tipping hotline on 020 8604 7000 or by emailing flytip@croydon.gov.uk
