A group of sixth-form students scaled a trio of mountains to raise money in memory of a teenager killed by ecstasy.
Fourteen Year 13 students from John Fisher School in Purley trekked to the top of Yorkshire's highest summits to complete the Three Peaks challenge.
They braved torrential rain and fearsome winds to complete the 26-mile hike, spanning a total climb of 2,142m, in under 12 hours.
The students, joined by six staff, raised more than £5,400 for the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation, which was launched by the parents of the Addiscombe 16-year-old who died after taking of multiple organ failure the drug at a rave last year.
The money will be used to fund a play about Daniel's death written by award-winning playwright Mark Wheeller, who has completed a draft script.
Daniel Spargo-Mabbs died in January last year
The play will be called I Love You Mum, I Promise I Won't Die after Daniel's last words to his mother Fiona.
The charity this week began a six-week drug awareness programme at Daniel's school, Archbishop Tenison's High Church of England High School.
The lessons, which will be taken to other schools later this year, are designed to help youngsters make informed choices about drug use.
