A taxi driver was pulled from his cab by his passengers after crashing into traffic lights this morning.
The man, thought to be aged in his thirties, was taken to hospital by police following the collision in Waddon Park Avenue, Waddon, at about 5.40am.
Firefighters winched the badly damaged taxi free after the crash left it wedged between traffic lights and an electrics box.
The driver suffered cuts to the back of his head.
Firefighter Raoul Codd, of Croydon station, said: "The two passengers got the driver out of the car and then disappeared.
"What we did was administer first aid to him and then extracted the vehicle using a winch."
The wall, which borders a house, was badly damaged.
