Wandsworth is still the most expensive place to rent across the news area if the latest Government figures can be believed.

It cost an average of £1,560 to rent a two bedroom home in Wandsworth, the eight most expensive borough in London, according to figures released today by the Valuation Office Agency.

That compared to just £1,000 a month in Croydon, which was the fifth cheapest London borough.

The figures show a median rent per month based on private rental market statistics between October 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014.

In Surrey, it cost £1,100 to rent a two bedroom home in Epsom and Ewell, and £1,150 in Elmbridge, which includes towns like Cobham, Esher and Weybridge.
