Sixth formers gleaned an insight into 300 years of life at their school at a book launch.
The pupils at Archbishop Tenison’s quizzed David Smith about the years of research into the school’s history which went into his book.
It is the first history of the school and has been published to coincide with the school’s 300th year celebrations.
The book tells the story of how a small charity school for “ten poor boys and ten poor girls” grew into the Church of England high school which exists today.
Archbishop Tenison’s has twice moved site, starting its life in North End, relocating next to St. Peter’s Church in the 19th Century and then taking up residence in Selborne Road in 1959.
Copies of the book can be bought from the school.
