Rainbow characters Zippy, George and Bungle were joined by The Crystals at the Independence Day Run on Thursday.

The run, which was organised by the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity took place in Wapping, London on Thursday.

Over 300 runners donned stars and stripes to take part in the challenging 5 and 10k run to celebrate America’s historical day with The Crystals helping to cheer on the runner.

The brand new race started 15 minutes from London’s Bank in Wapping Gardens and passed some of London’s most historical landmarks including the King Edward Memorial Park and the Limehouse Basin.

Rainbow Trust Sports and Challenges Manager, Anna Thomas, says: “The atmosphere at our first ever Independence Day run was fantastic yesterday and it was great to see so many Londoners take part, along with some people from America.”
