It has been two years in the making, but the redevelopment of Dillon Court has finally been completed.

The re-opening of the 50-home building, formerly known as Grace Court saw more than 50 people attend, including Brian Dillon, who the scheme is named after.

He said: "I view this honour as not just a reflection of my time as chairman of the association but also the personal time and commitment of all the board members over the years who supported me in the governance of CCHA.

"Over that time I like to think we demonstrated our values and commitment to our residents as a local community housing association whilst being open to new ways of providing additional social housing often in the face of difficult funding and regulatory regimes.”

Some residents have opted to move back in following the revamp.

Tracy Cullen, chief executive of CCHA, said: "A great deal of work has gone into not only the last 2 years but long before, from the first resident consultation with existing residents.

"We’d like to say a big thank you to all those who contributed to the scheme and we are proud to say that Dillon Court is now finished."
