A South Croydon model could soon be named one of the most elegant men in Britain.

Paul Harston is a 31-year-old security worker at the University College Of London, but come next week he could be crowned Mr British Isles Elegant.

"Thousands of guys have entered over the last few months," Mr Harston said.

"The judges look through the huge amount of entries that the competition attracts every year.

"Then a selected number of finalists are offered the chance to take part in the national final."

Already named Mr South Croydon, he will hope to go all the way at the final on May 28.

The competition and is open to men aged between 28 and 50 and the winner will be awarded £1500 plus a modelling and promotional contract.

He will be required to take part in a catwalk show on the day, with the judges to then decide on a victor.
