A Caterham man has been fined for "smashing up" a bus stop.
Surrey Police were notified that a bus stop on Croydon Road, Caterham, had been "smashed" on July 24 last year.
Officers then went around to shops in the area, and while looking at CCTV footage, identified Zac Bonney as the person who had caused the damage.
Last week the 24-year-old was found guilty of criminal damage and was fined more than £800 as a result.
He was ordered to pay a £440 fine, £85 in costs, £145.48 for compensation and a £44.00 victim surcharge.
