It's already been rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted, now a Coulsdon school has opened a multi-million pound classroom on top of that.

Woodcote Primary School opened its £5 million "state-of-the-art" today (January 19), much to the delight of executive head teacher Timothy Rome.

“At Woodcote we have a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic team who are committed to each child achieving the highest standards of education and behaviour," Mr Rome said.

"With an Ofsted ‘outstanding’ rating we are also a highly popular and oversubscribed school.

"The new building and improved facilities will give more children the opportunity to be part of our wonderful school."

The project, funded by Croydon Council has seen significant improvements to the children’s outdoor play spaces, making them bigger and accessible all year round.

Inside the classroom is a smartboard and more spaces to teach smaller groups of children as well as quiet work areas.
