Residents are begging a landowner to take action against travellers ‘churning up’ a park in Epsom.
It has been reported that ‘eight or nine’ caravans and trucks have pitched up on Long Grove Park, classed as Livingstone Park, close to Southfield Park Primary School.
Travellers were previously evicted from Horton Country Park by Epsom and Ewell Council.
A spokesman for GEL, which owns the land, said: “GEL is following all of the necessary legal requirements and working with the relevant authorities in order to enable the travellers to be moved.
“This shows that GEL has moved swiftly to take action and resolve a situation that is not of its own making.”
The council, who are unable to legally evict the travellers as it is private land, is aware of the situation and have been in contact with GEL.
