A walking tour will explore Epsom’s Victorian cemetery and visit the final resting place of the town’s lords and ladies this weekend.
Elizabeth Dorling, the mother of household management author Mrs Beeton, was the first person to be officially interred in the Ashley Road Cemetery in 1871, but the first burial was much earlier.
The cemetery is also home to the town’s war memorial and monuments to war heroes, jockeys and politicians.
The one-and-a-half hour history walk of the cemetery walk starts at 2pm from the main gate off Ashley Road and costs £5.
