Works to change the lighting on the A217 will commence on Monday (July 24) and are expected to last until December 22.

Transport for London have reportedly sent a letter to residents around the A217 St Dunstan’s Hill, Oldfields Road and Reigate Avenue between the junctions with the A232 Cheam Road and Rose Hill Roundabout.

Work will be scheduled on Mondays to Fridays day and night from 10am to 4pm and from 8pm until 5am.

TfL added that work may need to be conducted occasionally at weekends.

“We have agreed this with the London Borough of Sutton and will complete our noisiest work by midnight,” the letter said.

Some lanes of traffic in both directions on the A217 will be closed during works and TfL advised to people allow extra time for your journey.

Buses are predicted to run as normal “although roads may be busy”.
